What is a quiz?

A quiz is a learning tool that helps learners assess understanding and reinforce key concepts. The feature can combine regular content with interactive question blocks to create an engaging experience for learners.

Types of quiz questions

You can create two types of questions in a quiz:

• Select all that apply – Multiple choice questions where participants can select multiple correct answers
• Select one option – Questions where participants select one correct answer

Creating a quiz

To create a quiz:

1. Go to the course editor
2. Click the plus button and choose “Quiz”

Adding questions to a quiz

To add questions:

1. Type “/question” on a new line in the quiz page and press “Enter” or select “Question” from the menu
2. Write your question
3. Use the dropdown and choose the question type:
   1. Select all that apply
   2. Select one option
4. Write your answer options and mark the correct answers using the ‘Correct’ dropdown
5. Add additional answer options by clicking “Add option”

Setting passing criteria for a quiz

Content creators can set a minimum passing score to define the criteria learners must meet to complete the quiz successfully. Learners will see the passing criteria in a banner at the top of the quiz page.

To set passing criteria:

1. Open the quiz page in the course editor
2. Click the three dots on the quiz page
3. Click “Passing criteria”
4. Enter the minimum score required to pass (0–100%)
5. Click “Save”

Setting the value to 0% disables passing criteria. Learners must meet the passing criteria to unlock the “Next” button, while failed attempts show a “Retake” option until they pass.

How updated passing criteria affect existing quiz attempts

When passing criteria are changed:

• Learners who have already passed the quiz remain marked as Passed

• New learners, or learners who retake the quiz, must meet the updated passing criteria

• Insights metrics update automatically as new attempts are submitted

Analyzing quiz data

To analyze data from quizzes:

1. Click “Insights” on the course
2. Navigate to the Pages tab and select the quiz to view detailed performance data

When passing criteria are enabled, the Insights page shows:

• Pass rate
• Passed
• Failed

Exporting quiz data

To export detailed quiz performance:

1. Click “Download”

The export includes:

• The passing score configured for the quiz
• Each attempt’s status (Passed or Failed)

This provides a complete view of team performance for further analysis or reporting.
